In September 2017, I went to a Film and Photography Workshop that took place in the historic city of Cortona in Tuscany. The workshop was organized by the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg in cooperation with the „Cortona on the Move“ Photography Festival in Cortona. We stayed there for almost a week and fell in love with the landscape, the culture and the details we discovered while shooting. For my photo series I chose a couple portraits and some classic sunset photos.
Additionally, we created several film projects in groups. In my group, consisting of Sonja Aberl, Florian Nebenführ and me, we made a 20-minute documentary about the unemployment situation in Cortona and Tuscany, called „Non c’è trippa pe‘ gatti“. It features impressive stories by some inhabitants of Cortona and a visually associative, abstract city portrait. The trailer for the documentary will be up here soon. Here you can see some stills.
The following black-white portraits were taken by Florian Nebenführ and show the inhabitants of Cortona we interviewed.
